Joseph Montoya, CPA, is a Tax Manager at Haskell & White, bringing over 15 years of experience in public accounting to the Firm. Starting out his career working for Big 4 firms, KPMG and Deloitte he built a foundation in tax. Following his tenure with Big 4 firms, Joseph dedicated a decade to a mid-sized firm as a Tax Manager, and further enriched his expertise through a pivotal role within a manufacturer’s internal finance team. This dual perspective equips him with a profound understanding of the pressures faced by private company finance teams, allowing him to offer uniquely informed and empathetic solutions. Joseph possesses comprehensive knowledge in tax planning and compliance, particularly for C-Corps. He serves diverse industries, including manufacturing, medical devices, nonprofits, and food manufacturing.

Known for his proactive approach, Joseph gains an understanding of his client’s businesses to deliver tailored solutions and navigate potential challenges. Joseph is deeply committed to his profession and takes the initiative to conduct thorough tax research and analysis. He prioritizes building strong relationships with clients. Joseph grew up in Denver, Colorado, and graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder, with a Bachelor’s in Accounting and Finance. He also earned a Master’s in Accounting from the University of New Mexico School of Management. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his dog and being out in nature, biking, snowboarding, skiing, and fishing.
