Our History
Haskell & White LLP was established in 1988 when a well-known regional CPA firm with four offices in California separated into independent operating entities. Partners Steven P. Haskell and David R. White II continued practicing in the Newport Beach office as Haskell & White. As demand for the Newport Beach office's services increased, so did the size and scope of the Firm's practice.
Through the years, the Firm and its clients continued to benefit from the leadership of Mr. Haskell and Mr. White, as well as the constantly expanding team of highly qualified, dedicated partners and professional staff.
In November 1995, Wayne R. Pinnell joined Haskell & White after a successful tenure at BDO Seidman, LLP as an Audit Partner, where he specialized in manufacturing and distribution industry clients and SEC reporting. Mr. Pinnell took on the role of Haskell & White's Managing Partner in July 2004 following eight years as a partner in the Firm's Audit and Business Advisory Services Group.
Since its founding, Haskell & White has grown to encompass nine partners, two principals and a total of more than 70 professionals, making the Firm one of the largest independently owned accounting firms in Orange County. The Firm's managed growth has been achieved by consistently providing the highest levels of technical expertise and client-centered service, retaining highly qualified and dedicated professionals, and providing an outstanding corporate culture for employees.
Founding Partners
All told, Mr. Haskell and Mr. White practiced together for nearly 30 years, until the passing of Mr. Haskell in September 2005. The Firm is grateful for the solid foundation and core values established by these dedicated gentlemen, and strives to continue their legacy.
Steven P. Haskell, Co-Founder
 As co-founder, Managing Partner for the Firm's first 16 years and Director of Special Operations of the firm, Steven P. Haskell brought more than 30 years of experience to Haskell & White LLP. He was a recognized expert in the community for his creativity in the areas of corporate and partnership reorganization, transactional structuring and deferral planning. Beginning in August 1974, Mr. Haskell was employed by a regional office of Swenson & Clark, CPAs, the Newport Beach operation that became Haskell & White in 1988. In 1990, Mr. Haskell became managing partner of Haskell & White and served in that capacity until July of 2004.

David R. White II, Co-Founder
 David R. White II co-founded Haskell & White LLP and served as a Partner for 15 years. Although he officially retired as a Senior Partner in June 2003, Mr. White continues to serve as a consultant for the Firm and certain of its clients, and represents the Firm through his involvement in community organizations. Mr. White was employed by the "Big Eight" accounting firm Arthur Young & Co. for nine years prior to joining the Orange County office of Swenson & Clark, CPAs, the Newport Beach office of which became Haskell & White in 1988. His professional experience in accounting spans more than 35 years, and encompasses both public companies and non-profits in a broad spectrum of industries. Mr. White also taught seminars in technical accounting and auditing issues for a national training program as well as Haskell & White's local training program.
