IRVINE, Calif. (January 24, 2017) – Haskell & White, one of Southern California’s largest independently owned accounting, auditing and tax consulting firms, has promoted two employees in the Tax Department and three in the Audit and Business Advisory Services Department.
The Irvine, Calif.-based firm has more than 70 staff members in Orange County and San Diego, and prioritizes employee training and growth as well as promoting from within.

The staff members who have been promoted are as follows:
Gordon Cope, CPA, Tax Manager
An Aliso Viejo resident with more than five years of experience in public accounting, Cope joined Haskell & White two years ago after working at Goldman Sachs and KPMG. In addition to preparing and reviewing federal and state income tax returns, Cope works with clients on tax and estate planning. With a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Utah, Cope specializes in the real estate, medical device, manufacturing and entertainment industries.
Kellie Kremer, CPA, Audit Manager
From creating and managing budgets to completing financial statements and audits, Kremer manages all aspects of client engagements. With previous experience at a regional accounting and consulting firm, Kremer has been at Haskell & White for two years. She has a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Long Beach and is an Irvine resident.
Thomas Kenaya, CPA, Audit Manager
A San Diego native, Kenaya joined Haskell & White one year ago after working for more than six years as senior auditor at a regional accounting firm and for the City of San Diego. His specialties are in the life science and manufacturing industries. Kenaya has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from National University.
Rachel Nguyen, Tax In-Charge Associate
Nguyen joined Haskell & White two years ago after graduating from California State University, Fullerton. A Garden Grove resident, her expertise is in the real estate, life science and manufacturing sectors.
Josiah Vander Poorten, Audit In-Charge Associate
An Irvine resident, Vander Poorten joined Haskell & White two years ago. Specializing in the nonprofit and real estate sectors as well as in SEC audits, he was previously a project accountant at an Orange County planning and design consulting firm. He earned his MBA from the University of La Verne and a bachelor’s degree from California Polytechnic State University, Pomona.
