IRVINE, Calif. (August 14, 2017) – Independently owned auditing and tax consulting firm Haskell & White is excited to announce the promotion of four employees in the Tax Department and three employees in the Audit and Business Advisory Services Department.

The Irvine, Calif.-based firm has more than 80 staff members in Orange County and San Diego, and it prioritizes employee training and growth as well as promoting from within.
The staff members who have been promoted are as follows:
David Brownstein, CPA, Senior Audit Manger
Brownstein has been with Haskell & White for five years after beginning his career with PriceWaterhouseCoopers. A resident of Irvine, Brownstein particularly enjoys working with public companies and utilizing his tremendous research skills to tackle complex issues and provide clients with top-notch advice. He serves on the executive council for the UCI Diabetes Center. Brownstein graduated summa cum laude from Tulane University with a bachelor’s of science in finance and a Master of Accounting.
Rachel Nguyen, CPA, Tax Senior
Rachel Nguyen, a resident of Garden Grove, joined Haskell & White more than two years ago after graduating with honors from Cal State University Fullerton. Nguyen focuses on the real estate, life sciences and manufacturing industries while also serving Haskell & White’s nonprofit clients. She has a strong background in project management and enjoys utilizing her skills to coach other staff and engage meaningfully with clients.
Calvin Chu, CPA, Tax Senior
Irvine resident and PriceWaterhouseCoopers alum, Calvin Chu joined Haskell & White two and half years ago. Chu specializes in real estate and international tax issues where he strives to provide clients with steadfast service and consistency to foster client success at every level. Chu graduated with a master’s in Accountancy from City University of New York.
Sarah Kim, CPA, Tax Senior
Sarah Kim, of Irvine, came to Haskell & White from another Orange County private accounting firm one year ago. Her exceptional organization and communication skills have fostered her success and allowed her to continue to excel within her real estate specialty. Kim graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a bachelor’s in Accounting.
Mayra Cruz, Audit In-Charge Associate
Mayra Cruz came to Haskell & White last year after ten years of accounting experience in private industry for a variety of medical companies. Cruz, a resident of Tustin, prides herself on her ability to plan, supervise and execute audits and other tasks with precision and efficiency. Given her background, Cruz particularly enjoys working with Haskell & White’s healthcare clients, though she also specializes in SEC compliance and works with the real estate and manufacturing industries. She graduated from California State Long Beach with a bachelor’s of Accounting with an emphasis in Financial Management.
Kuan Lee, Tax In-Charge Associate
Kuan Lee joined Haskell & White three years ago after a stint in PriceWaterhouseCoopers’s transfer pricing group. Lee has experience working with a variety of industries including real estate, medical supplies, pharmaceutical and manufacturing. A technology enthusiast, he is particularly adept at utilizing tax software and tax research tools. A resident of Irvine, Lee earned his bachelor’s degree from Cal State Fullerton where he was a student of Haskell & White Managing Partner Wayne Pinnell, and has a master’s degree in Business Taxation from University of Southern California.
Danielle Salveson, Audit In-Charge Associate
Danielle Salveson joined Haskell & White in January of 2016. Her ability to learn new concepts quickly has allowed her to engage with clients and perform at a superior level. Danielle specializes in real estate and works with public companies. A resident of Cypress, Salveson graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a bachelors in business administration with a concentration in accounting.
