IRVINE, Calif., May 13, 2005 — Haskell & White LLP, one of the largest independently owned accounting, auditing and tax consulting firms in Orange County, today announced that Managing Partner Wayne Pinnell was initiated as honorary member of California State University, Fullerton’s chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, an international fraternal organization for financial information students and professionals. The initiation was sponsored by the students to recognize Pinnell’s dedication to teaching at the University, and his mentoring of young accountants beyond the classroom.
CSUF faculty, students, alumni and accounting industry professionals attended the initiation ceremony, held May 12, at the Irvine Marriott Hotel. According to Pinnell, who also was the keynote speaker of the event, the faculty and students have made him feel at home in the classroom. “I appreciate the opportunity to share my enthusiasm for the accounting profession with the students,” said Pinnell. “I hope that I can be a resource for them after graduation as well.”
“The students chose Professor Pinnell for this honor because he consistently contributes the most to the students,” said Joann Zhang, Beta Alpha Psi publicity chair. “We go out of our way to enroll in his classes.” Professor Mohsen Sharifi, Ph.D added, “Pinnell is being honored largely because of his importance in the Orange County accounting community, and the role he plays building the profession.”
