IRVINE, Calif. (June 12, 2018) – Haskell & White LLP Managing Partner Wayne Pinnell has been recognized by the California State University, Fullerton Department of Accounting for his contributions to the university’s accounting program.
The Mihaylo Accounting Service Award was based on a committee evaluation of the time committed to serving the program and the type of involvement in the school’s accounting department. Special emphasis was applied to Wayne’s numerous contributions to student engagement and learning as well as his impact on the department’s visibility and positive reputation. The dean of the CSUF Mihaylo School of Business and Economics, the senior director of development and the chair of the accounting department all served on the evaluation committee and honored Pinnell at the recent CSUF spring awards dinner.
“I am humbled to receive this distinction from the department,” Pinnell said. “At Haskell & White we are committed to nurturing future generations of accounting professionals, and I am both honored and excited to have the opportunity to embody that spirit at CSUF where I get to interact with the bright young minds that will shape the future of our profession.”
Pinnell has taught auditing to college seniors at CSUF – Irvine Campus on a part-time basis for more than 16 years. He started teaching to give back to the community and share his expertise, and in 2014 he was awarded the school’s “Outstanding Teacher Award.”
“Today, we are recognizing Wayne for his selfless contribution towards our program’s success,” said Vivek Mande, professor of accounting at the CSUF Mihaylo School of Business and Economics and director of its Center for Corporate Governance. “The department is very grateful for the many hours of his time that he has generously given to us as the chair of the advisory board, as a board member and firm-sponsor of the Haskell & White Academic Conference, and as an auditing professor.”
