Rick M. Smetanka is the partner-in-charge of Haskell & White LLP's Audit and Business Advisory Services Group. He is responsible for the effective planning, execution and delivery of audit and consulting services to both public and private organizations, primarily those in the real estate and technology industries.
Rick joined Haskell & White LLP in 1996 after more than six years at the international accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand LLP. His clients range from entrepreneurial start-ups to established multinational corporations. Rick has assisted companies in various financial transactions, including public offerings and acquisitions. He also has counseled public companies on compliance with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requirements, including the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
Rick graduated with honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA).
Rick became a founding member of the Business Advisory Board of the Child Abuse Prevention Center after serving as the organization's Treasurer for more than three years. He also consults with a number of non-profit organizations and volunteers as an AYSO coach and in the Art Masters program at Portola Hills Elementary School.
