Tom O’Rourke is a tax partner at Haskell & White LLP serving clients in the real estate industry. He has over 18 years of experience in public accounting and has been a member of the firm since 2005. Prior to joining Haskell & White, Tom worked for both national and local CPA firms, including Ernst & Young where he spent 6 years specializing in the real estate, hospitality and construction industries.
Throughout his career Tom has focused on the real estate industry. He works with each client throughout every phase of their business development, from establishing a new entity, operating a real estate business, and when the time is appropriate, designing an exit strategy that encompasses their objectives. Tom’s understanding of the business and tax implications enables him to successfully navigate through each phase of the business.
His professional affiliations include NAIOP, California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA) and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Tom designed and presented a technical training session for Law Seminars International on special partnership tax issues in today’s economy. He also writes articles on real estate tax issues, most recently related to restructuring real estate debt.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from San Diego State University and a Master of Science degree in taxation from Golden Gate University. As a volunteer, Tom serves on the board of directors as treasurer for the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation and coaches youth sports for AYSO, Irvine Girls Softball and Pony Baseball.
